Today's April 30th!
Actually, I turned in my SIR to UCLA a week and a half ago, so that's not exciting anymore. Anyhow, I just remembered that I had to decline admissions too, and so I did that for all the UCs.
However, USF and SJ State are horribly disorganized. It took me half an hour to figure out things for USF, and now I still can't get into my account. SJ State seems to have cancelled my account too?
So I guess I can't decline for those 2 schools. ARE THEY GOING TO CHARGE ME? Seriously it's not my fault.

Listening to the Princess Mononoke OST makes me sad because I have yet to find my lost dvd.
Joe Hisaishi, the composer of the music for Princess Mononoke (as well as Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, etc) manages to create epic masterpieces using many different instruments and sounds. Even though I know nothing about music, I can still feel the depth of the different chords and tunes of his compositions.
I can so cry listening to this song!

GIRLING PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH.
Currently in American Democracy, my group is doing a campaign project on the Iraq War. We're supposed to aim for short term objectives that will ultimately lead to a successful long-term result (withdrawal from Iraq).
We're writing letters to big media industries (ABC, FNC, MSNBC) in hopes that they will increase media coverage of the war--> rally more people to protest--> congress to realize how much we hate this stupid "war"-->withdraw.
However, we're also going to make a brochure, hopefully make badges/buttons to pass around school, write an article for The Lowell, write to local radio stations, etc.
Girling: "Your short term objectives have nothing to do with your long term goal. C. "
I think Girling should realize that we are in no position to shoot Bush in hopes of ending the war. I think that increasing media coverage is the most immediate, effective approach we have to influencing the direction of the war. Oh my god Girling pisses me off.

WOAH, you guys, the first episode of "Last Friends" was amazingly good.
I LOVE UENO JURI! I could turn lesbian just for her, but I guess I shouldn't admit that. I can't really write a review on the first episode since I'm short of time, but I hope I'll get to it in a few days.
Ryo's character, Sosuke, is scary. I wonder what had happened in his life to cause him to be so mentally unstable. If I were Michiru (Masami), I would've kicked him in the arse way early on.
*Spoiler* Why is everyone so shocked at the last scene (Juri kisses Masami)? The lesbian vibes were bombarding my computer screen from the super short 15s commerical weeks ago.

TODAY'S YAMAPI'S BIRTHDAY!! WOOHOO!!!
Now that I think about it, it'll be my 3rd time celebrating his birthday (without physical representation lol). Time flies by so quickly!
Remember those crazy Korean fans? The title of one article was, "Korean fans rape Yamapi." I laughed a lot reading that (the use of the word "rape"), despite the horrible event. Poor Yamapi--his increased publicity over the years has garnered some unwanted attention by radical fans.
Yamapi has changed a lot since I first found out about him. I like to think he's grown up a bit, but that's just like. He's bulked down in muscle toning, so his chest isn't as overwhelming. hahaha. What I do want to complain about though is his lack of smiles. As Akira, he was all smiles and fun, but since Ken and Kurosaki are pretty stoic characters in terms of expression, he seems to have developed that same attitude. I want to see bright smiles!
But nonetheless, I'll continue to support Yamapi and NEWS (if only they would stop putting out singles that seriously do not appeal to me). In 2008, I MUST SEE more drama action. I mean, in terms of a romantic drama, Proposal Daisakusen was a let down because Ken was boring. I want to see Yamapi in more versatile roles!!!

I am so angry at the China and Tibet controversy. At the same time, I'm trying to maintain an unbiased view of the situation, but I'm starting to lose my cool.
I can't turn this place into a political forum though. But anyhow, WTF does this have to with the Olympics? The hard work that many relentless athletes have put into the Olympics this year will all be futile and ridiculously undermined if half the world decides to boycott the games.
So China is launching the games. As least hold it until the games are over ok? If the protests were initiated earlier, perhaps some sort of compromise could have been reached over a period of a few years. But now you're telling China to reach a compromise within months of the start of the Olympics? WHY NOW? Well of course I can guess the answer.
I'm just really pissed. I was very close to crying when watching the news just now. Tomorrow, the torch will pass through SF. My grandma is going to wherever it is to observe in support of the games. I hope there's no violence. If she gets hurt, oh ho, I'll be mad for life.

I have to go to UCLA. I REALLY want to go into nurse administration, and UCLA is only one of the very few places in California that offer excellent programs for nursing.

BERKELEY OR UCLA?
I've been trying to punch in positive thoughts about Berkeley all night yesterday, and surprisingly, it has worked. The only thing I'm giving up by going to Cal is probably an early nursing career (I can probably achieve this though by transferring, but it might be a hassle). Then again, what am I going to do at Berkeley then?
I went to the UCLA event at San Jose today, and it turned out to be highly informative and interesting. Bad thing is, makes me want to go there even more. Gotta attend Cal's when it's out.
In reality though, I'm very fan (cantonese) and depressed that going to either schools will make me sad for one reason or another.

Even though I got into UCLA, the chance of me going there now is seriously closing in. I'm having a lot of family problems right now concerning my going to a school so far away. What was the point of waiting for that acceptance letter anyway?
By the way, I hate UC Berkeley. I got in, but they deferred me to the spring semester of 2009. fu.

In the last few days, I watched 5 episodes of Coffee Prince and finished "Virgin Snow" and "Windstruck."
"Virgin Snow," which stars Lee Jun Ki and Aoi Miyazaki, was pretty horrible for a production this big. As a multicultural love film, it lacked cultural perception and plot development. Aoi, like always, put on a good performance, but her goody two shoes personality was REALLY annoying. Plus, I could not stand looking at Lee Jun Ki's face. I give this film a 5/10, most of the points which come from good scenic shots.
"Windstruck" stars the spirited, upbeat girl from "My Sassy Girl", Jun Ji-hyun, and Jang Hyuk (i don't know much about him). I liked this film a lot more than "Virgin Snow," but it still failed to strike up strong emotion. It was meant to be heartwrenchingly sad, but really, the shallow chemistry between the characters and the typical movie directing weakened all melodramatic scenes. The ending was nice though--a prequel to "My Sassy Girl!" Talking about "My Sassy Girl," which I cried a bucket in, I still can't forget that mountain top scene. I rate this 6.5/10.
